Play It Forward Program
Rugby is a sport built on community, and the Play It Forward Program helps make sure every player has the opportunity to take the field.
Families in our club often find themselves with cleats, jerseys, shorts, and other rugby gear that players have outgrown but still have plenty of life left in them. Through Play It Forward, we collect and redistribute this gently used equipment so it can help the next generation of players.
If your player needs gear, you’re welcome to browse what’s available and take what you need. We simply ask families to contribute whatever they feel is fair as a donation to the club. Your contribution helps support our programs, maintain equipment, and keep rugby accessible for everyone.
If your player has outgrown their gear, consider playing it forward by donating it back to the program so another young athlete can use it.
Together, we keep the game growing and make sure no one sits on the sidelines because they don’t have the equipment to play.
Donate Gear. Pick Up Gear. Play It Forward.
Play It Forward – Frequently Asked Questions
What gear can be donated?
We gladly accept gently used rugby equipment, including:
- Cleats
- Rugby jerseys
- Shorts
- Socks
- Training gear
- Scrum caps
- Practice shirts or team apparel
If it’s still in good, playable condition, there’s a good chance another player can use it.
When can gear be donated?
Gear can be donated at the beginning of each season or during designated collection days throughout the year. Donation bins will also be available at select practices and events.
How do players get gear?
Players and families can browse the available gear during scheduled distribution days or by contacting the club. If your player needs something, just let us know—we’ll do our best to help.
How does the “Pay What You Can” system work?
The Play It Forward Program operates on an honor system. Families are welcome to contribute whatever they feel is fair as a donation to the club. Some items may only require a small contribution, while others may be worth a bit more. Every dollar goes directly back into supporting the program and our players.
Why does the club run this program?
Youth sports can get expensive, especially when kids grow quickly. Play It Forward helps keep rugby accessible, affordable, and community-driven by recycling quality gear and supporting the club at the same time.
How can I help?
You can support the program by:
- Donating outgrown gear
- Making a contribution when taking equipment
- Spreading the word to other rugby families
