About the Valkyries

Valkyries Rugby is a high school athletic program like no other.  We do not have tryouts, we do not cut players, and we give everyone a fair opportunity to play the game.  We welcome athletes of all shapes, sizes and skill levels.  It is a true team atmosphere where mutual respect is taught and enforced.  Bonds are formed that last well beyond the high school years.

We are a club, not affiliated with any school district, but part of the North Penn Rugby Club and Montgomery/Bucks Amatuer rugby Association.  Our team is open to players from any school in the Montgomery County area and beyond. The team has had representation from Souderton, North Penn, Methacton, Wissahickon, PennRidge, Lansdale Catholic, and many more. Some players have traveled from as far away as Boyertown, Haverford and Quakertown to be part of our program.

Players are usually drawn from 9th through 12th grade, but we do have some players from 7th and 8th grades.  Plus, we are looking to start a “junior” team with players from 7th and 8th grades. So all are welcome – even if you just want to observe at first.

Our coaches are nationally certified and background checked through USA Rugby.  Safety is always our top priority.  New recruits do not need to know anything about rugby to join.  We are happy to teach beginners.
